Mikala Narlock, DCN Director, has accepted a new position at Indiana University Libraries as the Director of Research Data Service. Beginning March 28th, Emma Molls, the Director of Open Research and Publishing at the University of Minnesota Libraries, will serve as the interim Director. We anticipate filling the vacancy during the summer of 2025.

This transition provides an opportunity for the DCN, in close collaboration with the University of Minnesota Libraries, to assess current staffing needs, commitments, and upcoming priorities. The DCN will continue to evaluate our work to ensure we are best serving the needs of data curators in the research data management community.
A note from Emma:
On behalf of her colleagues at the University of Minnesota and members of the Data Curation Network, I would like to thank Mikala for her leadership and contributions over the last three and half years. Her commitment to the Network has strengthened the collective and highlighted the value of data curation. We wish Mikala the best at Indiana, she’ll be missed!
“We may be librarians, archivists, or data scientists, but in the DCN we are all curators…”
