Alfredo is the Research and Data Services Librarian at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to joining CMU, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Biology in the University of Pennsylvania, where he worked on cultural evolution, focusing on western classical music. He holds a BSc in Chemistry, an MSc, and a PhD in Sciences (Physics and Complex Systems) and his research interests are mostly interdisciplinary in the fields of Computational Social Sciences, Cultural Evolution, Digital Humanities, Science of Science and Complex Systems. Outside academia he enjoys a good espresso, cooking, playing soccer, video games, playing cello and exploring new music and forms of artistic expression.
