Michael is a Research Data Management Librarian at the University of Virginia. As part of Research Data Services at UVA, he consults with faculty and research staff to assist with a wide range of data management issues across the research data lifecycle. Michael is especially interested in ways to better integrate effective data management & curation principles into everyday research practices, especially scientific research practices. His background includes work spanning areas from ultrafast spectroscopy and quantum dynamics to semantic technologies, designing data processing workflows, and working with RDF metadata and knowledge graphs. He holds a Master of Science in Information and an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, as well as a B.S. in Physics and a B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University.
